It is a really good idea to install the breather hose before the case halves are joined. I finally found a case guard for the drive sprocket area. Last one they had.

It is nice to see the case joint surface very even at the mouth.

Those are brand new connecting rods.




Why? Because, this is what I took out of the engine!

See the little inner screw of the cases that some people leave out? I don't.

Be careful not to damage the case mouth installing it. Take out the two case studs. Use a round shank screwdriver. Use blue locktight. If the screws come loose they will not fall out because of the barrels.

It is very helpful to have an extra pinion for tightening cams.
