1969Triumph 650 Head

The first three pictures were taken by Mr. Lio Goff at Memphis Machine Werks. I sent him the old head from the 1969 650 head after having it vapor blasted not bead blaqsted. He rebuilt the head perfectly. He installed new seats and aliigned all angles and measurements exactly. He did some shim work under the spring collars and put a three angle seat face.

The next two pics show the pistons just before the head went on. The one showing the cross-hatch pattern that is hard to do today as it is more coarse than used on new bikes. Note that the pistons were weighed before installing. There are taces of the copper cote gaslet cpmpound used on the head gasket. It was fitted a couple of times to ensure the orings were installed corectly. The two red ones were used in the pust rod tubes in the bottom and the higher temp black ones used in the upper parts as it was an upgrade in the 1970 models. The head gasket was drilled out using a dremel to the .060 bore. No leaks with the correct torque. All edges were smoothed.

The next three pictures are to show that the hhead had Kibblewhite valves installed. I found out that Mr. Leo Goff and Mr. Killblwhite were friends for years.
